The Music City Bowl is one of the bowl games played in the post-season of the college football games in the United States. First played in 1998, 2024 will see the twenty-fifth Music City Bowl game being played. These games refer to the competitions between teams from the Big Ten Conference and the Southeastern Conference (SEC).

The Music City Bowl games have also featured teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and the Big East Conference in the past. They initially played the games at Vanderbilt Stadium (presently FirstBank Stadium), notable for being the home stadium of the Vanderbilt Commodores football team. However, they have changed the stadium since then. The last Music City Bowl game played in 2023 featured the Auburn Tigers facing off against the Maryland Terrapins, which the Maryland Terrapins won 31-13.

Nissan Stadium presently serves as the home stadium of the Music City Bowl games as per StadiumDB. Located in Nashville, Tennessee, United States, this is a multi-purpose stadium that was first opened to the public in 1999. Notably, this stadium serves as the home of the Tennessee Titans of the NFL. Additionally, Nissan Stadium also serves as the home stadium of the Tennessee State Tigers of Tennessee State University.

Music City Bowl Stadium History

The construction of Nissan Stadium took place from 1997 to 1998 as per StadiumDB. The stadium was designed by Populous and its construction cost $290 million. The stadium was finally opened for the fans on August 27, 1999. Since then, the stadium has undergone renovations in 2012.

Nissan Stadium is notable for having three levels of blue and red colored seats as per Stadiums of Pro Football. The center gridiron is surrounded by the lower grandstand. There are two other decks of seats that are located on both sides of the field. Moreover, the stadium also has 175 luxury suites and 12,000 club seats.
