Oregon Ducks QB Dillon Gabriel and his girlfriend Zo Caswell recently lost their pet dog, Winston, who died on Sunday morning.
Caswell reposted Gabriel’s Instagram story paying tributes to Winston, on her account. Gabriel had shared an image which had pictures of them with their pet dog. They had lit candles in front of the pictures and also put flowers behind the images. Caswell added a sweet caption:
“My sweet baby boy”
The couple also shared a post on Instagram which featured their favourite moments with Winston. They added the song 'See you again' to the post. Gabriel and Caswell also added a caption to say goodbye to their pet dog.
“Rest in peace to our sweet Winston. You brought more love and joy into our lives than we could've ever imagined. You will forever be our son and we will miss you endlessly. Winston went into what we thought would be a simple surgery. However, during the surgery, it was discovered that there was an irreparable issue with his stomach.
“We ended up putting him down peacefully early this morning. Winnie, we love you more than you will ever know. We will miss your nibbles, bark, and endless kisses to the face. Can't wait till we meet again in heaven. - dad and mom”
Dillon Gabriel enjoyed offseason with Zo Caswell and their pet
Dillon Gabriel spent part of his offseason enjoying leisure time with his girlfriend, Zo Caswell, and their pet, Winston. Just two days before their pet died, the trio was spotted at the Oregon Ducks indoor training facility ahead of the team’s spring game.
Gabriel shared several photos on Instagram documenting the day, including images of Caswell and Winston playing together. The quarterback playfully suggested that Winston might have a future in football. He compared the pet’s speed to that of Oregon wide receivers Tez Johnson and Terrance Ferguson.
“Gettin our boy Winston right for the Spring Game this Saturday. He’s still deciding between RB, WR and TE. Bout to give @jordanjames2_ @tezmania15 @terrancef3 a run for their money.”
Gabriel also joked that Winston’s small size doesn’t affect his skills.
“Got some Routes on Air in and this dudes got elite quickness (kind of like Tez) and down the field speed. Lacks size of course but size doesn’t matter (in this case, because he’s a skill position). I think he’s ready for some reps.”
The post offered fans a refreshing and lighter side of the star quarterback's life. Sadly though, their dear Winston will no longer be with them.
