Nebraska vs Indiana: Preview
Nebraska is a 6.5-point underdog against Indiana, while the over/under is set at 50.5 points.
The Cornhuskers are coming off a lackluster win over Rutgers two weeks ago as Nebraska is coming off its bye week. The Cornhuskers offense struggled in its last outing as Dylan Raiola went 13-for-27 for 134 yards and a pick.
However, Railoa credited Rutgers' defense for stopping him, but he's just glad that team got the win.
“Hats off to the defense, they played a heck of a game and had a great plan against us," Raiola said, via CornhuskersWire. "Those games happen, hate to say it, but we just have to go back.
"I mean I thought there was really good defense coming into this game, so our defense stepped up big time when we needed them and I couldn’t be more grateful for them.
"Even our punter, (Brian) Buschini is just a true representation of our program and I couldn’t be more proud to have that defense. We won the game, that’s all that matters,” he added.
This season, Railoa has thrown for 1,358 yards, nine touchdowns, and three interceptions as a true freshman. Dante Dowdell has led the way with 334 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
On defense, Malcolm Hartzog Jr. has recorded two interceptions, James Williams and Ty Robinson have four sacks, and John Bullock leads the pack with 33 tackles.
Indiana, meanwhile, has been a surprise team as the Hoosiers are undefeated. Indiana is coming off a big win over Northwestern and had its open week this past weekend.
In the win over Northwestern, quarterback Kurtis Rourke threw for 380 yards and three touchdowns as he's been solid this season.
Heading into the matchup against Nebraska, Indiana coach Curt Cignetti is eager to return home and expects the crowd to really help them.
"I think it's more about us performing as well as we're capable of performing, and give the crowd a reason to really get into the game, which I'm highly confident we will.
"We have up to this point every time we've gone out, and a lot of confidence in this group. It's an experienced group, high-character guys. We feed off each other," Cignetti said, via SI.
Indiana is led by Rourke, who has been one of the best quarterbacks in college football this season.
Rourke should be able to have success against this Nebraska defense, while the Cornhuskers offense should sputter again as Indiana remains undefeated and puts itself in the playoff conversation.
Prediction: Indiana 31, Nebraska 24
