Nebraska vs USC: Preview
Nebraska is a 9.5-point road underdog, while the over/under is set at 50.5 points.
The Cornhuskers are on a three-game losing streak, as Nebraska hasn't been playing well lately. It needs to win one more game to be bowl eligible as it has been a disappointing season for the Cornhuskers.
“I think the impact of our fans on the road always is elite,” coach Matt Rhule said, via SI. “When they do show up in mass it limits the need for the silent cadences and all the things that make being on the road hard.”
Nebraska is led by Dylan Raiola who's thrown for 1,921 yards, 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Dante Dowdell has rushed for 471 yards and eight touchdowns, while Isaiah Neyor has caught 25 passes for 408 yards and five touchdowns.
Defensively, Nebraska is led by Malcolm Hartzog Jr. who has four interceptions, Ty Robinson who has five sacks and Isaac Gifford who has 53 tackles.
USC, meanwhile, has made a quarterback change. The Trojans benched Miller Moss and will start Jayden Maiva. The quarterback is a good passer and rusher, and Rhule says he poses problems for the defense.
"We’re sitting here trying to figure what to do with, you know, they’ve changed the quarterback. You know, we’re watching UNLV film and spring film and all that,” Rhule said. "It’s sort of the same thing, right? You’re sitting there looking at, you know, what do they do well, and they do a lot well. Maiava, you know, he has the ability to move.”
Maiva is 8-for-11 for 66 yards this season while rushing for 27 yards. The team is also led by Woody Marks who's rushed for 878 yards and nine touchdowns.
The Trojans are led by Mason Cobb who has two interceptions, Eric Gentry who has two sacks, and Easton-Mascarenas-Arnold who has 73 tackles, two interceptions and two sacks.
USC and Nebraska have been disappointing this season; both have struggled on both sides of the ball. But, this is a good opportunity for the Trojans to get the win.
Big Ten trams traveling multiple time zones have struggled. Nebraska's defense is still an issue, so USC should get a big win.
Prediction: USC 28, Nebraska 21
