The Longhorns entered the game ranked as the third-best team in college football, and they backed up their ranking by dispatching the tenth-ranked Wolverines. The game was never close, as Texas entered the half with a 24-3 lead.
The game ended 31-12 in favor of Texas, with quarterback Quinn Ewers throwing 246 passing yards and three touchdowns. The Longhorns' wide receivers were also impressive, as Gunnar Helm, Matthew Golden and Quintrevion Wisner each grabbed one touchdown.

The Texas Longhorns next face UTSA on September 15, 2024. UTSA will travel to Texas, giving the Longhorns their first home game since August. After the UTSA game, the Longhorns play UL Monroe on September 22, 2024. Texas is expected to make another playoff run in 2024.
