Kirby Smart assesses Carson Beck's underwhelming Week 11 performance
In the post-game press conference, Kirby Smart talked about his quarterback's lackluster form on the field. Despite him failing to throw a touchdown against the Rebels, Smart did not blame him entirely for the loss.
"I thought Carson played good, I mean, some of those penalties aren't on him," Smart said. "He had a couple snafus too where maybe he didn't motion a guy or didn't shift somebody in as a part of the adjustment and he knows that. We put a lot on him."
Smart also talked about how despite the hostile environment at Oxford, Beck remained graceful till the end.
"He's playing on the road with crowd noise. But man, he stands in that pocket and converted some third downs and made some really nice plays. I thought he threw the ball away a couple times tonight and was really good."
The Georgia Bulldogs are next scheduled to take on the Tennessee Volunteers at home. It will be interesting to see if they can go on to achieve their dreams of emerging as national champions this season.
