With this win, Notre Dame secured its first victory against Georgia and advanced to the College Football Playoff semifinals, where it will face No. 6 Penn State.

The No. 7 Fighting Irish had previously lost all three matchups against the Bulldogs, making this triumph even sweeter. Fans wasted no time turning the moment into viral gold.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart gives Marcus Freeman's Notre Dame a lot of credit

Notre Dame has now advanced to face Penn State in the playoff semifinals after a dominant performance against Georgia. The Fighting Irish outcoached the Bulldogs and ran the ball far more effectively. Georgia wraps up its season at 11-3 as SEC champions.

After the game, Georgia coach Kirby Smart acknowledged the challenges his team faced.

“I think both defenses played well, and we turned the ball over and they didn’t,” Smart said. "And they (Notre Dame) gave us problems in the pass game with the sack and the sack fumble. So give them a lot of credit.”

Marcus Freeman, meanwhile, deserves immense praise. His coaching staff and players delivered, despite battling injuries throughout the season. Notre Dame’s resilience continues to shine as it marches forward.
