2024 CFB Award Winners list: Travis Hunter, Ashton Jeanty, Cam Ward, Curt Cignetti and more receive major accolades 

With the 2024 regular season over and the playoff bracket known, the majority of the awards relating to what happened this season have been given out.

One major exception to this is the Heisman Trophy, which will be awarded on Saturday.

Here is a look at who won each award.

The Biletnikoff Award

This award is given to the best receiver in College Football. It was won by the Colorado Buffaloes' Travis Hunter. Hunter was the top wide receiver for the Buffaloes this season and was the main reason why the team performed so well this year.

Chuck Bednarik Award

This award is given to the best defensive player in College Football. As with the Biletnikoff Award, this was won by Hunter, who, as well as being a wide receiver, played cornerback. This was a role that he also succeeded in, and it is no surprise that Hunter could add the Heisman Trophy to his ever-growing list of accolades.

Davey O'Brien Award

This is given to the best quarterback of the year. It was won by the Miami Hurricanes' Cam Ward. Ward was instrumental in the Hurricanes' success this year, throwing for 4,123 yards and 36 touchdowns, something that no other QB was able to match.

Doak Walker Award

This is given to the best running back and was won by Ashton Jeanty of the Boise State Broncos. Jeanty came close to breaking Barry Sanders' season record, and this is the reason why Boise State was able to have a near-perfect season. Jeanty would help the team win the Mountain West conference and become the number three seed in the CFP.

Coach of the Year

The 2024 Coach of the Year is Indiana Hoosiers' Curt Cignetti. Cignetti, in his first season with the team, led the Hoosiers to a historic season, going 11-1 for the first time. The reward for Cignetti's season is a CFP spot, where the Hoosiers will face state rivals, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, in the first round.
