Texas transitioned to the Southeastern Conference in the 2024 college football season after several years in the Big 12. The university agreed to realign with the conference in 2021 alongside Oklahoma and will finally make the move official this summer.

Texas 2024 college football season schedule
Texas kicks off its season in 2024 with a home game against Colorado State on Aug. 31. Things will get difficult pretty quickly as they will be facing national champion Michigan in Ann Arbor in Week 2 on Sept. 7.
The Longhorns' other non-conference schedule will be at home against UTSA on Sept. 14 and ULM on Sept. 21. These games are expected to build their momentum for the challenge ahead.
Steve Sarkisian's team begins life in the SEC with a home game against Mississippi State on Sept. 28. They face their long-term rival and fellow SEC newcomer Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas on Oct. 12.
Texas' toughest test of the season will be on Oct. 19 when they host Georgia in Austin. This is one of the games fans are anticipating, as the Longhorns transition to the Big SEC.
The team is also scheduled to play Vanderbilt and Florida in the second half of the season. They also have a date against Arkansas and Kentucky as the season draws closer to an end.
Texas rounds up the 2024 season with a classic series which has been revived by the move to the SEC. They will be out against Texas A&M for the first time in 12 years in College Station. The return of the series is widely anticipated in the college football world.
