Four-star running back Isaiah West has announced his commitment to a team for his collegiate career in the 2025 recruiting cycle. It looks like Ryan Day's Ohio State Buckeyes have found themselves a new weapon to utilize on the gridiron.

In a recent tweet, the 5-foot-11, 210 lbs RB shared his decision, making him the 16th pledge for Ohio State's 2025 recruiting class.

"THE OHIO State! I'm home! 🌰❤️@Locklyn33 @TonyJCoach @OhioStateFB @Coach_Sug @T_Roken @ryne011 #gobucks #committed," Isaiah West wrote in the caption of his post.

West hails from St Joseph's Prep School, which is also home to other former Ohio State players, such as Marvin Harrison Jr. and Kyle McCord. He initially committed to the Kentucky Wildcats in March while also receiving offers from North Carolina, Nebraska, Wisconsin and Penn State. The young running back then decided to de-commit from Kentucky on March 13.

During his 2023 campaign with St. Joseph, Isaiah West tallied 861 yards along with 10 touchdowns.

Isaiah West puts his belief in Ryan Day's Ohio State

While speaking with On3, the young RB opened up about how it was an 'easy decision' to finalize his commitment to Ohio State after visiting Columbus:

"It was a no-brainer for me. I got there on the visit. I loved the vibe, and I saw a true brotherhood. We hung out, I spent time with the coaches and at dinner that night, I told them I was ready to commit. It was a pretty easy decision."

West also heaped praise on Ryan Day's leadership and how it influenced his decision to commit to the Buckeyes:

"It starts at the top with coach Ryan Day. He is a natural leader and a great person. He was one of the only coaches to sit me down and talk directly to me, and that meant a lot. Coach Day talked to me about people that come in. There are great players and they have a lot of talent, but it is about helping the talent at Ohio State. I just loved his message and how direct he was."

The young RB then opened up about his bond with RB coach Carlos Locklyn.

"Coach Carlos Locklyn is my guy too. Like Coach Day, he is so genuine. He sends me motivational texts every morning and we have a real relationship," West said. "He has a big personality and is so easy to talk to."

Isaiah West will be an important weapon for Ryan Day's roster. It remains to be seen if he will go on to etch his name in the program's history and make a name for himself in college football.
