One of the main beneficiaries of the Deion Sanders effect is quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who has ridden his father's coattails to stardom. The QB showed his talent on the field last season with an iconic celebration and charisma to catapult himself to the top of the NIL rankings.
On Monday, Shedeur Sanders, whose NIL value is $4.8 million per On3, announced the launch of his "2 Legendary" podcast. It is a play on the "SS2LEGENDARY" brand he built over his college football career.
Shedeur Sanders will collaborate with Overtime on his podcast, and their first episode will drop on Tuesday. He has accumulated a combined following of 2.5 million on various social media platforms due to his popularity.
Shedeur Sanders announced the release of the podcast on Instagram with the caption:
"We been 2 Legendary … New Podcast drops tomorrow."
Shedeur Sanders' off-field activities criticized
Shedeur Sanders has shown that his off-field activities, including modeling and rapping, have not affected his football career. Last year, he was one of the top QBs, throwing for 3,230 yards, resulting in 27 touchdowns and just three interceptions.
However, former NFL QB Shaun King criticized Shedeur's off-field pursuits on an episode of "Big Smitty Mondays." This comes after a poor workout clip with Miami QB Cam Ward emerged on the "Well Off Media" channel.
"Obviously, Shedeur Sanders isn't really putting that work in," King said. "It's one of the things that I've always wondered."
"So much of his offseason work is off the campus of Colorado. It's always, 'We in Miami; we're going on the yacht tonight.' So, like, 'We on the beach; we're going to film a little clip of us doing something.' Like, 'We in Atlanta; we're going here we got a concert tonight. Wo we are at a local party."
"And for Cam to call him out, it's almost like Cam telling him, like, 'Hey, man, look. That was BS today. I've seen you work hard.'"
Sheuder's father, Deion Sanders, could combine his off-field commitments with his flourishing career in the MLB and NFL. He is the only player to have appeared in both a World Series and the Super Bowl.
