Coach Prime is often linked to NFL coaching jobs, but he took the time to set the record straight ahead of the Alamo Bowl. During an episode of The Pacman Jones Show, host Adam "Pacman" Jones asked Deion Sanders about the NFL rumors. Jones asked:
“Coach Prime is gonna go to the Cowboys, gonna leave to go to the Raiders, might go to Florida State. Can we just set the record straight?”
Sanders didn’t hesitate to respond.

"I love where I am, I'm happy where I am...I can't wait to see what the future beholds where I am,” Sanders said. “I love Boulder, Colorado.”
"I have every intention, every plan in the world to be coaching for the Colorado Buffs from here on,” he added. “I want to finish here. I want to put the flag...I want to put my name on the mountains out there, I want to put my flag down in Colorado."
Sanders, who signed a five-year, $29.5 million contract in December 2022, was brought in to revive a struggling program coming off a 1-11 season. Under his leadership, the Buffaloes went 9-3 in his second year, securing a bowl appearance and national attention.
While NFL rumors continue to swirl, Sanders’ focus seems on Boulder and on building something special with the Buffs.
Deion Sanders keeps focus on Buffaloes ahead of Alamo Bowl matchup with BYU
Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, who began his college coaching career at Jackson State, has been mentioned as a candidate for NFL coaching openings. However, Sanders remains focused on his Colorado Buffaloes as they prepare for the 2024 season finale.
The Buffaloes (9-3, 7-2 Big 12), led by Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter Jr., will face the 17th-ranked BYU Cougars in the Alamo Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 28, at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. MT.
Before conference realignment shook up the Big 12 and Pac-12, the Alamo Bowl traditionally featured teams from those conferences. Colorado earned its spot as the Pac-12 representative, while BYU was chosen from the Big 12.
