Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders recently celebrated his birthday. He turned 57 on August 9th, marking another year off from his journey. To celebrate his special day, Coach Prime decided to take a walk down memory lane and reminisce about all the glorious moments he had been a part of.
Recently on Instagram, Deion Sanders (who is valued at $45 million as per celebrity net worth) shared a post where he put up several photos showcasing the different eras of his life. It included snaps from his time as a professional two-sport athlete in the world of baseball and football.
Some photos also showcased Coach Prime's fashion sense and physical fitness. The last photo of the post showed him flaunting a custom Colorado jersey as the head coach of the Buffs. He shared a caption with the post, in which he stated that not much has changed over the years apart from his hairstyles.
"Ain't nothing changed Through the years, but my hair. #Happy Birthday #CoachPrime," the caption read.
Deion Sanders spent three seasons as the head coach of the Jackson State Tigers before arriving in Boulder ahead of the 2023 season. During his stint with the Tigers, he led them to back-to-back SWAC championships. Thus, there was a lot of hype surrounding his family's arrival in Boulder after Colorado's nightmarish 1-11 2022 campaign.
Unfortunately, after an impressive three-game winning streak at the beginning of the season, the Buffs failed to maintain their consistency, ultimately resulting in them not even qualifying for the bowl games.
Coach Prime used this failure as a stepping stone and worked in the offseason to revamp his roster and the coaching staff. Now it will be interesting to see if it pays off this upcoming season in the Big 12.
CFB insider gets real on Deion Sanders' debut Big 12 campaign
Recently, college football insider Greg McElroy came forward to share his honest prediction for the Buffs' Big 12 reunion campaign. He stated that he is confident that they will be able to qualify for the bowl games this season.
However, the dream of making it to the playoffs is still far-fetched for Deion Sanders and his team. He justified his take by talking about the tough schedule the Buffs have ahead of them.
"Colorado, I do believe is bowl game bound this year. The probem is the league that they are moving into is all about the offensive and defensive lines. Think about some of the teams they'll be facing, McElroy said. "The schedule is extremely difficult. And the matchups, the matchups for Colorado are something that I don't yet feel great about. I expect them to improve. But this is a see it to believe it business." (3:45 onwards)
It will be interesting to see if Deion Sanders can help the Buffs be a wildcard contender in the new 12-team playoffs.
