Deion Sanders has been able to lead his Colorado Buffaloes to their first bowl game since 2016. In it, they will be facing fellow Big 12 program the BYU Cougars.
However, Sanders, who has a net value of $45 million according to Celebritynetworth.com, will not be alone in this game. He has invited the Buffaloes' 100-year-old superfan Miss Peggy to the Alamo Bowl. In a press conference building up to the game, Coach Sanders not only confirmed her presence at the game but has given her a special role in the game.
"Miss Peggy will be here, and I think she's starting as well."
The friendship between Deion Sanders and Miss Peggy is an admirable one, and this season it has become stronger than ever.
One of Sanders' goals for the season was to get Miss Peggy to a bowl game. He was successful with this goal, and now his friend will reap the rewards of his success.
On his relationship with the superfan, Sanders said in November:
"Miss Peggy, in her own tremendous, loving way gives all of us hope. She gives all of us that unspeakable joy, that love, that respect.”
Now, Sanders and the Buffaloes can use the hope and love that Miss Peggy gives to the team to lead them to victory over the Cougars.
Deion Sanders on Travis Hunter
As well as looking out for the program's fans, Deion Sanders is looking out for his players as every good coach should. One player that he has recently been looking out for is his star cornerback and wide receiver Travis Hunter.
Hunter is currently dealing with both the fallout of his Heisman Trophy win and the current drama concerning the leaked videos of his fiancée Leanna Lenee. However, despite all of this, Sanders has been able to see the positives of Hunter's season.
"Everything is great. He has the Heisman Trophy at the crib. He's projected to be the first or second pick, no later than the third. I don't know where all the bulljunk comes in at. I think it's all a blessing. The things you may count as stressing is still a blessing. I think he's heading in the right direction. He loves the game of football. I'm always focused on the positives, not the negatives. It's so easy to see the negative when the positive is right there in front of you," Deion Sanders said.
To Sanders, Travis Hunter is set for a fantastic career in the NFL and is going to be a top three pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
Sanders has not focused on the negatives surrounding him, only focusing on the on-field performances of Hunter, which have been very strong.
