Deion Sanders’ Colorado has witnessed a couple of transfer portal exits in the last few weeks. Nonetheless, the Pro Football Hall of Famer countered the notion that the Buffaloes suffered significant losses in the transfer portal, questioning what exactly the Buffaloes lost.

Reporters suggested during the press conference session that the departures included backups and individuals considered potential starters at specific positions. However, Sanders, who is worth $45 million (per Celebrity Net Worth), outrightly disagreed with this, arguing the reporters were not present in the team's practice.

“I wish you guys do a little more homework when you start talking about the portal and understand what we losing, What are we losing? I got time today. What are we losing? Potential? Where? You haven’t been watching practice, have you? We’re good. We’re good,” Sanders said.

Deion Sanders maintains trust in his staff

Colorado has done a lot of recruiting since Deion Sanders took over in Boulder ahead of the 2023 college football season. The Buffaloes made use of the transfer portal like never before in the previous offseason, bringing in over 70 players while also recording a mass exodus.

In the current situation, Sanders expressed his confidence in the program’s recruiting team as well as the coaching staff. He believes they're going to make the right decisions for the team.

“I trust the recruiting team,” Sanders said. “I trust that coaches and please have some faith in me. We're alright. We're alright. What happens with the portal man, and you guys need to know, a lot of people are fighting for backups.”
“When a guy is a starter and he transfers you got to really think about that. I mean, is he really that? I don’t know how many starters have really transferred around the country.”

Some new players are on the way

While Colorado has suffered some portal losses on its roster, that would not let down the current tempo of the team. Deion Sanders disclosed that some players will be visiting the program soon as they remain active in recruiting.

“I think we got some coming in for visits pretty soon, maybe even this weekend,” Sanders said. “But we can attract those types of players, but I don’t think we’re losing those types of players. And if we do, we’re good. We’re good. Quit making a big deal out of that.”

The Buffaloes are seeking redemption in the 2024 college football season following a disappointing outing in 2023. Deion Sanders has a lot to prove in the upcoming season and it is to be seen how he gets things together ahead of the season.
