Former Alabama wide receiver Isaiah Bond was a key player for Nick Saban's offense the last two seasons. During Saban's 2023 campaign, Bond was successful in recording a total of 668 receiving yards along with four receiving touchdowns. However, after Saban's sudden retirement following last season, the WR announced his decision to transfer to play for Steve Sarkisian's Texas Longhorns.
As Isiah Bond continues his preparations for his Longhorns debut, he is already inking massive NIL deals before even setting foot on the gridiron. The $643,000 NIL-valued (as per On3) wide receiver and defensive back Michael Taaffe have finalized a new deal with Lamborghini Austin as their NIL partners for the upcoming season.
Using his name, image and likeness, Isaiah Bond is building quite an influence with marketing. In an Instagram story, the Texas WR reposted his official representative Damien Butler's story congratulating him for the new deal with Lamborghini Austin.
"Maximizing opportunities on and off the field," the caption read in the story.
Lamborghini Austin has been partnering up with student-athletes of the Texas Longhorns since the beginning of the modern NIL era.
To celebrate their new partnership with Bond and Taaffee, they also released a promotional video of these two Texas football stars driving around in Lamborghinis. Previous partners from the program included the likes of Bijan Robinson, Jordan Whittington and Jaylan Ford.
Lamborghini Austin's Managing Partner highlights the reasons behind the selection of Isaiah Bond and Michael Taaffe
As per Bruce Knox, the managing partner of Lamborghini Austin, both of Steve Sarkisian's players were selected based on their academic excellence, leadership skills and on-field success. Furthermore, they become the first representative of the brand following the Longhorns' transition as a member of the SEC conference.
"The Lamborghini Austin Promotional Partner Program rewards student-athletes for success in the classroom, contributions to their community, and performance in sports. Our committee selected two outstanding student-athletes who each took a unique path on their University of Texas journey, who achieved success in the classroom as well as on the field, and who will join forces to lead the Longhorns in their first year of competition in the SEC," Bruce Knox said.
"We considered several qualified student athletes, and I am proud to announce Isaiah Bond and Michael Taaffe as our Lamborghini Austin 2024 Promotional partners."
As the start of the new college football season inches closer, it will be interesting to see if Bond can perform at the same level under Sarkisian's offense as he did during his time with Saban in Alabama.
