The 2024 college football season kicks off this week with Week 0, and analyst Greg McElroy feels Clemson Tigers quarterback Cade Klubnik could have a breakout season.
Klubnik is entering his third season at Clemson and second as the team's starting quarterback. Although Clemson had a disappointing 2023 season, the Tigers are one of the favorites to win the ACC, and McElroy believes Klubnik is poised for a breakout season.
"It's pretty encouraging with some of the buzz that we're getting out of camp on Cade Klubnick," McElroy said, via Athlon Sports. "And who's to say that Cade Klubnick won't be the next in line of great quarterbacks that just took a little while for them to reach their potential."

McElroy pointed to Joe Burrow, Hendon Hooker, and Bo Nix as quarterbacks who became elite after slow starts to their careers, which is why the analyst thinks Klubnik can have success in 2024.
Last season, Klubnik threw for 2,844 yards, 19 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Klubnik was a five-star recruit in the class of 2022.
Dabo Swinney heaps praise on Cade Klubnik
Clemson Tigers coach Dabo Swinney heaped praise on his quarterback, Cade Klubnik. Ahead of the 2024 season, Swinney says Klubnik is practicing well and is excited for him and his upcoming season.
“I am just so impressed with him, but he has to go do it on game day, now, right? We can see it all day in practice. I would rather see it in practice than not see it in practice, but I am really proud of what he has done.
"Now the next step is let’s go be consistent and go do it on game day and week after week after week. If he plays like he has practiced, he is going to have a great year for us," Swinney said, via SI.
The Tigers added TJ Moore and Bryan Wesco Jr. to the receiver room, which should help Klubnik succeed more in 2024.
Clemson will open its 2024 season in Atlanta against the Georgia Bulldogs on August 31. The Tigers will have its home opener on Sept. 7 against Appalachian State.
