Tom Brady is widely viewed as the greatest NFL quarterback of all time. Despite having retired, he has been in the news a lot lately. He made headlines when it came out that he had spoken to Bryce Underwood before he rescinded his commitment to LSU and committed to Michigan. Brady played for Michigan from 1995 to 1999 before entering the 2000 NFL draft.
It is now being reported that Brady could influence No. 23 Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders' NFL future. JPA Football reported on Friday that Brady and Sanders have a close relationship.
"A little aspect about the Shedeur Sanders-Raiders connection that not a lot of people talk about: Tom Brady and Shedeur Sanders have a very close relationship," JPA Football's tweet read. "Brady will obviously have a big say in decision making for the Raiders. Shedeur Sanders would definitely love the idea of being part of the same organization as Brady."

Tom Brady owns a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders
This relationship is significant because Tom Brady recently purchased a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders. His bid for a 5% stake in the Raiders was approved in October, and now he is a part owner of the team.
Brady had agreed to acquire a minority stake in the team in May 2023, but the deal was delayed for several reasons. Majority owner Mark Davis was concerned that Brady was receiving too much of a discount.
However, now that Brady is an owner of the team, he is expected to have a big influence over the team's football operations. He could play a big role in who the Raiders draft in 2025. The Raiders will have one of the top picks in the draft, with the exact selection being determined in the coming weeks.
His relationship with Shedeur Sanders could be significant because the Raiders are widely expected to take a quarterback with their first-round pick. Sanders, alongside Miami QB Cam Ward, could be one of the first two quarterbacks drafted. If Brady uses his influence, the Las Vegas Raiders could end up drafting Sanders rather than Ward.
That will be determined during the 2025 NFL Draft from Apr. 24-26, 2025. Draft order will be determined after the last game of the regular season on Jan. 5.
