Cormani McClain has seemingly rubbished the rumors of getting slapped by Deion Sanders' son Shilo Sanders during his time in Colorado. The Florida Gators cornerback reacted to a screenshot on Instagram of quotes from an article by Athlon Sports titled: "Deion Sanders chaotic culture turns into locker room violence in Colorado."

In his response, McClain dropped a two-word message, along with a laughing emoji and a cap emoji, which is often used to denote lies.

"Ah yo," McClain wrote.

Athlon Sports says an anonymous former Colorado player had informed the publication of the issues in the Buffaloes squad. Here's what the player allegedly told the publication about McClain:

“Cormani was taking a lot of heat from everyone. At the same time, Coach Prime was saying he was in the doghouse and needed to improve, Cormani was getting bullied by Shilo (Sanders).

"After the Oregon State game, Shilo slapped him several times, which left Cormani screaming ‘I’m going to kill you’ repeatedly. After that, you could tell he wasn’t mentally there. It’s hard when the coaches you trust are calling you derogatory names on the practice field.”

Although McClain had taken a dig at Coach Sanders and Colorado after transferring to Florida this year, he stepped in to quell some of the rumored criticism around the Buffaloes.

Cormani McClain entered the transfer portal toward the end of April this year. He eventually transferred to Florida but didn't leave Colorado on good terms.

During a Q&A in a YouTube video titled “Next Step,” McClain appeared to throw shade at Coach Sanders after his Colorado exit.

“Some people just gotta take a step back from things sometimes, certain people, you know,” McClain said. “I feel like I just don’t want to play for clicks. I actually want to be involved with a great leading program that’s going to develop players.”

McClain played one season under Sanders at Colorado, in 2023. In nine games, he posted 13 tackles, of which six were solo, and two passes defended.

It will be interesting to see how McClain fares at Florida in the 2024 season.
