The AP Top 25 Poll Rankings after Week 13 released on Sunday, and it's safe to say that college football fans were puzzled by some of the results.
Alabama dropped six spots, while Colorado fell to No. 23. Fans reacted to the latest AP Poll rankings after the Tide and the Buffaloes suffered shock defeats on Saturday.
Some suggested on X that Alabama should have fallen further behind in the rankings after Kalen DeBoer's team suffered a crushing 24-3 loss to Oklahoma.
"Bama being 13 is criminal!," one wrote.
"Bama is suspiciously close to being in the top 12," added another.
"As much as I love the Tide, if they defeat Auburn they will be in the CFP and they don't deserve to be. The comm will create a narrative for it," a fan commented.
While many fans were surprised that the Tide are still close to the playoff spots, others pointed out that Colorado is still too high on the AP Poll Top 25.
"Colorado too high. K-State should be ranked," one wrote.
"Why is Colorado ranked?," tweeted another.
"CU would be still ranked with three L’S and a non ranked opponent," a user wrote.
The Buffs are virtually out of the College Football Playoff races. However, Deion Sanders' Colorado (8-3, 6-2 Big 12) will look to finish the regular season on a high when the Buffaloes host Oklahoma State on Friday.
Alabama remains in contention of reaching the College Football Playoff after latest ranking in AP Top 25 Poll
Since Alabama (8-3, 4-3 Southeastern Conference) is ranked 13th in the AP Top 25 Poll, the Tide have a chance of making it to the College Football Playoff. Kalen DeBoer's team faces Auburn (5-6, 2-5 Southeastern Conference) in its final regular season game on Saturday.
However, beating Auburn won't be easy. The Tigers need a win to secure bowl eligibility and will smell blood after Alabama's heavy defeat to Oklahoma.
Nonetheless, it's important to note that even a victory against Auburn might not ensure Alabama's spot in the 12-team College Football Playoff. All eyes will be on the final AP Top 25 Poll rankings next Sunday.
