The Alabama Crimson Tide, under coach Kalen DeBoer, survived an onslaught in Tuscaloosa by the South Carolina Gamecocks to win the Week 7 clash narrowly 27-25. The Crimson Tide were under the microscope after their road implosion to the Vanderbilt Commodores just a week after a thrilling win over the Georgia Bulldogs.

Next up for DeBoer is a trip to Knoxville to play at the raucous Neyland Stadium to face off against the No. 10 Tennessee Volunteers under coach Josh Heupel in what will be a weekend of big matchups in the Southeastern Conference.

During his weekly news conference, DeBoer shrugged off the pregame hype surrounding the atmosphere that awaits the Crimson Tide inside the Neyland Stadium.

"I coached at Washington, I know loud. All due respect to their fans, but I don't see the noise being an issue on Saturday," DeBoer said.

Kalen DeBoer reveals key for Alabama to beat Tennessee

The Tennessee Volunteers have been tabbed for one of the college football playoff places due to their impressive defense that has only allowed seven touchdowns in six games played so far this season.

Their offense under quarterback Nico Iamaleava started the season well but has slowed down in the past two games leading to the shock Week 6 19-14 loss to the Arkansas Razorbacks and a narrow 23-17 overtime win against the Florida Gators last weekend.

During his weekly news conference, Alabama coach DeBoer revealed how his team would attempt to disrupt the quarterback's rhythm in order to win the game.

“I think he’s got a live arm, extremely talented," DeBoer said. “You can tell that they’ve got the skill on the outside to where they can hit the home run and make big plays anytime.
"I think a lot of it is just trying to disrupt him to where the continuity and the flow is just not consistent, and that’s gonna be any quarterback. Every week, that’s the goal is try to just really cause some chaos and change things up on them."

The Volunteers have been shutout in the first half of two consecutive games and during his Florida postgame news conference, Heupel laid down a challenge for his struggling offense.

“At some point, we got to say we’re going to man up and do our job and make this thing go the way that it’s capable of,” Heupel said.

The Week 8 clash pitting DeBoer's Alabama Crimson Tide against Heupel's Tennessee Volunteers could be a season-making game for the two programs with ambitions of a conference championship game and college football playoffs appearance.
