Terrion Arnold and Jalen Milroe will be playing on different levels this season, with the former moving to the NFL, but their "LANK" legacy continues to strengthen its roots in Tuscaloosa. Alabama commits Luke Metz and Duke Johnson are the latest athletes to affirm their belief in the LANK motto.
During a recent 7-om-7 camp at the University of Georgia, both young athletes posed for a photo, bringing out the LANK symbol. Have a look:
Metz even reaffirmed his loyalty to the Alabama Crimson Tide as he posted on X:
"After a great visit with a great team I’m still fully committed to the university of Alabama. #LANK"
Terrion Arnold clarified "LANK" motto after Jalen Milroe's performance
“LANK” is short for "Let all naysayers know." Alabama’s new motto was explained by cornerback Terrion Arnold after quarterback Jalen Milroe’s performance in Crimson Tide’s 2023 season opener against Middle Tennessee. Arnold, speaking to reporters, said:
“That’s my LANK brother. Kind of like everybody disrespecting us and everybody doubting us. Kind of like with us addressing all the disrespect and really taking it personal, we really take that personal.
“So as far as when you go out there and, like Coach (Nick) Saban says, you play to the standard, you LANK ‘em – let all naysayers know.”
Milroe also shed light on the origin of "LANK."
“It was something we built throughout the offseason,” Milroe said. “We came as one unit to think of a motto that’d push our team. There was a lot of doubt and things that took place. We came together as one group to create this motto.”
With this new mantra, Alabama aims to silence its critics and prove its dominance on the field. While Terrion Arnold has transitioned to the NFL, it’ll be interesting to see whether Milroe brings out the motto in the 2024 season.
