Alabama Crimson Tide QB Jalen Milroe established himself as a key component of retired head coach Nick Saban's roster last season. After Bryce Young's departure to the NFL, Saban put his faith on Milroe to lead the Crimson Tide on the field. And the young quarterback did not disappoint, leading the program to a playoff spot and an SEC championship victory over the Georgia Bulldogs.

Kirby Smart's team was undefeated heading into the SEC championship game against the Crimson Tide last season. The Bulldogs were in pace and hoping to three-peat the national title. Unfortuntely, Jalen Milroe and his team proved to be the hurdle they could not overcome, which ultimately brought an end to their playoff hopes.

During a recent interview on "McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning," Jalen Milroe talked about how early into the SEC title game, he could sense that his team was heading toward an easy victory. Milroe said:

"I'm big on body language and looking in the opponents eye, they looked defeated and they didn't want anymore. And I knew that our team knew thta it was going to be a 60 minute game, and Georgia didn't believe in that."

During the SEC title game, Kendal Milton gave Georgia an early lead in the first quarter. However, Will Richard shortened the gap with a 43-yard field goal before Jalen Milroe put up two touchdown passes in the second quarter to put Alabama back in the driver's seat.

Despite the Bulldogs' best efforts, they ultimately failed to reclaim the lead. Nick Saban's team clinched the victory with a 27-24 final score and booked their spot in the playoffs, where they unfortunately lost in the semifinals to the 2023 natty champs the Michigan Wolverines.

CFB analyst has unfiltered take on Jalen Milroe's skills under Kalen DeBoer's offense

Following Nick Saban's retirement, DeBoer was brought in from Washington as his replacement in Tuscaloosa. According to analyst J.D. Pickell, Milroe is set up for success and possibily being honored with the Heisman under DeBoer's offense this upcoming season.

"I love this. If you've watched this show for any length of time, you know I haven't always felt this was for Jalen Milroe." Pickell said. " But when he gets plugged into that Kalen DeBoer offense, and they have the whole scheme installed around him and everything is built to his skill set, he is going to cook. Jalen Milroe is going to do crazy numbers in 2024, I promise you." (0:36)

DeBoer has always been known for bringing out the best in talented quarterbacks. Can he utlilize Milroe's dual-threat abilities to their full exent in his debut campaign with the Crimson Tide?
