The Alabama Crimson Tide did not have the kind of season they were hoping for in Kalen DeBoer's debut campaign. Despite their best efforts, they finished the season with a 9-3 record and got eliminated from the SEC Championship while failing to qualify for the 12-team playoffs.

With the transfer portal officially open, the Alabama Crimson Tide have to focus on building a strong roster for the upcoming season. However, things aren't looking too good for them as there are rumors that several top talents will leave Tuscaloosa after their disappointing 2024 campaign.

Fans took to social media to share their thoughts on how this transfer portal will turn out for the Crimson Tide. One fan felt that Kalen DeBoer will lose out on a lot of top talents on the team after his disappointing debut campaign.

"And Alabama will become a poverty program"

Another fan stated that the Michigan Wolverines will likely pick up the talents leaving Crimson Tide in the portal.

"There's a million dudes who just entered the transfer portal from Alabama. Michigan will likely smash them."

This fan stated that DeBoer is not having a great time in Tuscaloosa.

"Alabama having a rough day. No CFP and they lost like 3 WRs to the transfer portal."

Another fan stated that the Crimson Tide could still do damage control through the portal.

"No need for Alabama fans to freak out over transfer portal entries. That's just college football now, and it's happening to every program. Difference is, now Alabama can punch back in the portal instead of having to sit back and watch the roster be poached for 30 days."

This fan felt that the Wolverine should take advantage of this opportunity to build their own roster through the Crimson Tide's losses.

"If I were the Michigan coaching staff, I would be attacking the Alabama roster (transfer portal) over the next few weeks with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind."

One fan stated that other teams will have many options coming out of Tuscaloosa.

"Teams will have many transfer portal options coming from Alabama this offseason."

Alabama loses two wide receivers to the transfer portal

After missing out on the playoffs and being assigned to the ReliaQuest Bowl, WRs Caleb Odom and Kendrick Law have decided to enter the transfer portal. Odom has three years of eligibility left while Law has one more season of college football.

After the WRs announced their decision to enter the transfer portal, Kalen DeBoer spoke about these departures. He praised them for their contributions to the team and to the WR room.

"I think they're aware that, you know, that just our style of offense this year, it was all about whatever it took to win," DeBoer said. "And I'll credit those guys. They did a great job of doing whatever they needed to do to help us win."

Caleb Odom played in all 12 games for the Crimson Tide this season. He tallied a total of 65 receiving yards for seven receptions.

On the other hand, Kendrick Law ended his time in Tuscaloosa with a total of 343 yards and one touchdown in three seasons. It will be interesting to see how DeBoer tackles the portal to prepare for the 2025 season.
