College football fans weren't impressed that the Ohio State Buckeyes practiced with fake crowd noise. The Buckeyes will play the Texas Longhorns in the Cotton Bowl in Arlington, Texas on Friday night in the College Football Playoff semifinal.
Before the Buckeyes played the game, reporter Adam King shared a video of the team pumping in crowd noise instead of music during practice.
Ohio State wanted the offense to get ready to call plays with tons of noise going against them. However, some fans weren't impressed by coach Ryan Day's tactics for his team.
"All this just to get blown out in a couple days, weird," a fan wrote.
"Yea .. the Jerry world acoustics ain’t like that.. the place doesn’t hold in noise at all," a fan added.
Fans think with how big AT&T Stadium is the crowd noise won't even be a factor for Ohio State.
"Shouldn’t be worried. Texas fans aren’t loud," a fan added.
"every team does this," a fan wrote.
Some fans think it isn't a big deal that Ohio State is pumping in crowd noise as plenty of college football and NFL teams do it.
"They are LOCKED in," a fan wrote.
"Shouldn’t be worried. Texas fans aren’t loud," a fan added.
Ohio State blew out Tennessee and Oregon to advance to the semifinals. The Buckeyes are a 5.5-point favorite to defeat Texas on Friday.
Ryan Day & Ohio State preparing for explosive Texas Longhorns
The Ohio State Buckeyes are favored to beat the Texas Longhorns, however, Ryan Day says the team can't be too confident. Day says the Longhorns are an explosive team that can put up points in a hurry, so he says stopping the offense will be tough.
"I look at their offensive line, the coaches, their running backs, and I know that they're very, very talented. They're very good. So we're going to have to be at our best, I know that," Day said during Ohio State's media availability on Sunday, via SI.
"And they're always looking for balance. Again, I have a tremendous amount of respect for Sark (Steve Sarkisian) and the way that he designs his offenses, the way he calls the game. So, our defensive staff is going to be working around the clock to put a great plan together."
The winner of Ohio State-Texas will play the winner of Notre Dame-Penn State in the college football national championship.
