Texas Longhorns linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. had a funny take on his bold post-game move after Texas’ dominant 34-3 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday at the Cotton Bowl. The Longhorns' defense was on fire, with sophomore standout Hill Jr. racking up 11 tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble.

After the win, Hill Jr. and fellow linebacker Barryn Sorrell decided to take a page out of Baker Mayfield's playbook from 2016. As Sorrell waved a huge Longhorns flag at midfield, Hill placed a red Baker Mayfield No. 6 Oklahoma jersey on the Cotton Bowl logo. Sorrell planted the flag right through it, in a nod to Mayfield’s famous flag-planting celebration.

Hill later posed with the torn jersey in the locker room, and when asked about the celebration, he shrugged it off with a smile:

"I just felt like it was the right thing for me to do," he said.

Not everyone was impressed, though. One CFB fan pointed out:

“Baker is in the NFL buddy. But hey, since y’all couldn’t beat Baker you might as well rip his jersey when he’s been out of school for years.”

Another fan pointed out that, it looks more like Texas respects no one after Anthony Hill Jr.'s flag action:

“Texas fears no one'? Maybe, but it sure looks like Texas also respects no one, not even its own sports legends,” another fan reacted.

With that game behind them, unbeaten Texas now looks ahead to a huge showdown against No. 5 Georgia next Saturday in Austin.

Anthony Hill Jr. flipped the script on Baker Mayfield’s old team

Baker Mayfield may have finished his college career seven years ago, but his bold actions still echo in the world of college football. One unforgettable moment was when the now Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback famously planted the Oklahoma Sooners flag at Ohio State’s field after a win in 2017.

Fast forward to this Saturday and two Texas Longhorns players flipped the script on Mayfield’s old team.

After a commanding 34-3 victory over the No. 18 Oklahoma Sooners, Longhorns linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. and defensive lineman Barryn Sorrell celebrated by planting a Texas flag at midfield of the Cotton Bowl. They even speared a Mayfield Oklahoma jersey during the act, rubbing salt into the wound.
