On Sunday night, Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin was dragged into controversy by NFL star Antonio Brown. Brown, who has a history of sparking online debates, was at it again when he suggested on X that Kiffin was the Southeastern Conference coach who slid into ring girl Sydney Thomas' DMs.
In response to learning that Syndey Thomas had an SEC coach DM her, Brown tweeted:
"Lane Kiffin Welcome to #CTESPN"
Thomas, who went viral as the ring girl for the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul boxing bout, appeared on the "Like A Farmer" podcast and spoke about an SEC coach sending her a DM. However, she kept the name of the coach a mystery.
"It was from another SEC football team coach. And they just DM’d me, ‘Roll Tide,’" Thomas said when asked about the "craziest DM" she received. "So I'm not going to say what coach it was, but they’re an Alabama fan, now at least. We’ll let everyone else figure that out for themselves, who it was."
Notably, Kiffin was the offensive coordinator/ quarterbacks coach at Alabama from 2014 to 2016. He worked under then-Tide coach Nick Saban. However, there is still no certainty that Kiffin was the one who DM'd Thomas, despite Brown's suggestion.
Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin confirms re-uniting with ex-wife Layla
Last week, Kiffin took to social media to announce that he reunited with his ex-wife Layla. The Ole Miss coach also said that Layla and their son Knox will move in with him and his daughter Landry in Mississippi.
Lane and Layla got married in 2004 and have three children, Landry, Presley and Knox. However, the couple divorced in 2016. Toward the end of 2024, there was speculation that Lane and Layla had reunited since the Rebels coach was posting more of his ex-wife on social media.
Now, it appears that the Kiffin family will stay together in Mississippi.
