The latest AP Top 25 college football poll was revealed on Sunday after Saturday's Week 3 matchups. The Week 4 AP Top 25 poll had a few significant changes from last week after Week 3's slate of games.
Of the key changes, none is more significant than a new team reaching the No. 1 spot. There was also some shuffling in the top 10 and two new teams entered the top 25. Here is a look at the key changes from the AP Top 25 poll.
Texas moves up to No. 1, passing Georgia
The most significant change of the week is Texas overtaking Georgia for the No. 1 spot on the list. Texas overcame an injury to Quinn Ewers and defeated UTSA 56-7. Arch Manning entered the game in relief in the second quarter and performed exceptionally.
Georgia remained undefeated but narrowly escaped with a win this week over Kentucky 13-12. Although voters did not punish Georgia too much for only winning by a point, they did not feel they could keep the Bulldogs at the top spot anymore. That said, Georgia fell to No. 2 after spending the whole season so far at No. 1.
Miami continues to rise and while Michigan continues its fall
Miami continued its upward trajectory this week, rising to No. 8 on the AP Top 25. The Hurricanes dominated Ball State in a 62-0 victory, and voters moved them up two spots. The Hurricanes have moved up the rankings each week since starting at No. 19 in the preseason.
Sherrone Moore's Michigan Wolverines continued its fall this week, dropping from No. 17 to No. 18 despite a 28-18 win over Arkansas State. The Wolverines have fallen nine spots since being ranked ninth in Week 1.
Illinois and Texas A&M enter the top 25
Illinois and Texas A&M entered the AP Top 25 poll this week in spots 24 and 25, respectively. Illinois is 3-0 and coming off a 30-9 win over Central Michigan while Texas A&M is 2-1 after defeating Florida 33-20.
Boston College fell out of the rankings following a 27-21 loss to Missouri after being previously ranked 24th. On the other hand, Arizona suffered a 31-7 loss to Kansas State after being ranked 20th last week.
