The App State versus South Alabama Week 4 showdown ended with the Jaguars securing a 48-14 victory. First-year head coach Major Applewhite's team put on a splendid performance at Kidd Brewer Stadium, helping them secure their second win of the season.
App State was trailing since the first quarter of the game. The Jaguars' offense overwhelmed the Mountaineers' defense. South Alabama quarterback Gio Lopez put in a praiseworthy performance, tallying 154 yards and two TD passes along with 105 rushing yards and one TD.
Fans soon took to social media to share their thoughts and opinions on the Appalachia State Mountaineers' dismal Week 4 performance:
"App State is f*****g terrible," one fan said.
"Such an easy read system play. Idk how App ST was favored to win this game," another fan added.
"South Alabama is just that good. Could be a Group of 5 CFP team," another fan said.
"Maybe this weekened the @AppState_FB team should watch prior years football games. Maybe then, they will understand all the blood, sweat & tears previous players spilled to build our football program. Our rich tradition is being lost all in the name of money. It's truly a shame," one fan added.
"We are not used to this. We have been the top dog in the Sunbelt and it hurts to see us losing in the easy games. We were the giant killers," another fan said.
