Arch Manning, the 19-year-old quarterback of the Texas Longhorns, is already generating buzz despite having only a handful of NCAA snaps under his belt. Speculation about his future hit a fever pitch when an X post from 'MLFootball' envisioned Manning as the next quarterback of the New York Giants.
The post read:
"THE NEXT QUARTERBACK OF THE NEW YORK #GIANTS: ARCH MANNING.
"This should’ve always been the plan for the G-men… better off building your team and then adding Arch as the final piece."
The post sent social media into a frenzy. Some speculated whether the Giants would actually wait for Manning or select a top quarterback in the 2025 draft.
"They’re gonna wait another 2 years? Just draft Quinn Ewers," one fan suggested.
"Arch will most likely be a Cowboy," another fan said.
"He doesn’t want to play for the Giants. Wants to make his own legacy with a team his family hasn’t played with. Ever notice Mannings don’t go to the same teams?" another fan pointed out.
While Manning is expected to step into the QB1 role for Texas in 2025, uncertainty surrounds current starter Quinn Ewers’ NFL Draft decision. If Ewers stays, Manning’s anticipated rise could face another delay.
However, Texas coach Steve Sarkisian enjoys Manning’s work ethic and dedication.
“If you took the name off the back of his jersey, all you’d see is a great teammate who works his tail off,” Sarkisian said via InsideTexas.
Manning’s journey is far from over, but the hype around him grows daily.
Arch Manning isn't going anywhere
Arch Manning put transfer rumors to bed on Monday, making it clear that he’s staying with the Longhorns. Speculation about his future was rife, but the redshirt freshman laid it to rest.
Ahead of Texas’ Peach Bowl showdown with Arizona State, Manning said:
“I really have no plans on entering the portal or anything … I don’t really know about it, about the whole windows and everything.”
Ewers is yet to announce his 2025 plans, but the spotlight is gradually shifting towards Manning. The nephew of NFL legends Peyton and Eli Manning, Arch has thrown just 95 career passes, but is already pegged as the Longhorns’ likely QB1 for next season.
