Arch Manning, the highly-rated Texas Longhorns quarterback, opened up about his growth as a player and his relationship with starter Quinn Ewers during Peach Bowl media day. The redshirt freshman talked about his development since joining Texas and his lessons from sharing the quarterback room with Ewers.
When asked about Ewers' influence, Manning praised his teammate’s composure under media scrutiny.
“What I’ve learned most about Quinn is how he handles the media,” Manning said. “He treats me the same, and he doesn’t let any of it bother him. He’s just one of the guys and one of my good friends.”
“I think I just have a better understanding of the offense and feel more comfortable around the guys in the locker room,” Manning shared.
The quarterback named receivers Ryan Wingo, DeAndre Moore and Isaiah Bond, among others, as key teammates he’s bonded with this season. Manning’s comments come as Texas gears up for their Peach Bowl showdown against No. 4 Arizona State.
While Ewers remains the starter, Manning’s mobility and football IQ have brought versatility to coach Steve Sarkisian’s offense.
The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl is set for Jan. 1 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. All eyes will be on Texas’ quarterback duo as they aim to make a statement against Arizona State. Whether starting or stepping in, Manning’s future in Austin looks as bright as ever.
