Arch Manning has decided to opt in to feature in EA Sports College Football 25, which will be released on July 19. This decision has surprised some fans, as Manning was the biggest name in college football to allow his NIL (Name, Image and Likeness) to be featured in the game.
Manning's decision to enter the game was announced in a video that featured the Texas Longhorns quarterback and his uncle, Eli Manning.
The former New York Giants quarterback then commented on Arch's decision on social media.
"@ArchManning is in the game! It’s a great way to focus on football. #CFB25 @EASportsCollege #EAAthlete," Eli Manning tweeted.
Initially, in March, Manning decided not to be included in the game as per College Football insider Anwar Richardson.
"Multiple people have told me Texas redshirt quarterback Arch Manning will not opt into EA Sports College Football 25. I'm told Arch is focused on playing football on the field," Richardson tweeted in March.
Arch Manning has spoken about being on the bench at Texas
Arch Manning is set to have another season on the sidelines with the Texas Longhorns. He spent most of 2023 in this position, and due to the return of star quarterback and College Football 25 cover star Quinn Ewers, Manning will spend most of his time on the bench.
However, this will help Manning develop his play to become the best player before he inevitably becomes the starting quarterback of one of college football's biggest programs in 2025.
Arch Manning spoke about spending another year on the bench at Texas.
“It’s tough because you want to be out there playing with your boys,” Manning told Larry Holder of The Athletic. “But [it came down to] just realizing there’s nowhere else I want to be, and it was my dream to play at Texas. I’m going to stick it out and play there eventually.”
While he is finding it tough not to be on the field playing, Manning has realized that by not transferring to another program, he can become the Longhorns starting QB in a program he knows well and will slowly be built around him to enable him to succeed.
