On Saturday, the Arizona Wildcats traveled to Fort Worth, Texas, to take on the TCU Horned Frogs in a Week 13 Big 12 matchup. The Wildcats were fighting to clinch a spot in a bowl game.

TCU, having already clinched a bowl game appearance, were coming off a 38-13 win over Oklahoma State on Nov. 9. The Wildcats haven't had the season many expected of them. Arizona broke a five-game losing streak with a 27-3 win over Houston last week.

Arizona vs. TCU: Game summary

After forcing an interception on the first play, TCU capitalized with a four-yard rushing touchdown to cap off a five-play, 37-yard drive, taking a 7-0 lead. The Horned Frogs forced two punts before marching 61 yards in five plays to take a 14-0 lead.

Arizona responded with a 17-yard touchdown pass from Noah Fifita to Chris Hunter to cut TCU's lead to 14-7 entering the second quarter. The Wildcats kicked a 53-yard field goal with 8:08 remaining in the second quarter to cut the lead to 14-10. Arizona forced a punt on the ensuing drive and kicked another field goal to cut the lead again, bringing the score to 14-13.

TCU responded with a 12-play, 75-yard touchdown drive capped off by a 20-yard scamper from Savion Williams to extend its lead to 21-13 entering halftime.

TCU held Arizona scoreless in the third quarter, scoring two touchdowns to take a 35-13 lead into the final period. The Horned Frogs opened the third quarter with a nine-play, 76-yard drive capped off by a rushing touchdown by Trent Battle to extend their lead to 28-13.

TCU forced a punt on the ensuing drive and capitalized with a 38-yard pitch-and-catch from Josh Hoover to JP Richardson to extend its lead to 35-13 entering the fourth quarter.

A 15-play, 75-yard touchdown took Arizona into the fourth quarter. The Wildcats scored in the opening seconds of the quarter with a three-yard touchdown pass from Noah Fifita to Chris Hunter and converted a two-point conversion. TCU responded with a nine-play, 75-yard drive capped off by a Cam Cook score to extend its lead to 42-21.

The Horned Frogs forced a turnover on downs before Jeremy Payne broke loose for a 30-yard race to the endzone, extending TCU’s lead to 49-21. Arizona returned a fumble in the game's late stages to bring the final score to 49-28 in favor of TCU.
