Sam Pittman and his Arkansas team welcome Texas to Fayetteville for a crucial late-season clash this weekend. The Razorbacks face a stern test in Week 12 against the Longhorns, who have been impressive this season and are in search of a place in the SEC title game.

Ahead of the encounter this weekend at the Razorback Stadium, Sam Pittman praised the Longhorns quarterback room. The coach acknowledged the brilliance of the backup option Arch Manning, comparing him to Patrick Mahomes, who’s worth $90 million according to Celebrity Net Worth.

“With Manning, I saw him make a play running to his left that they would have shown on ‘SportsCenter’ if (Patrick) Mahomes did it," Pittman said Monday. "The touch on that pass and the accuracy running to his left was incredible."

Pittman was referring to a memorable play from Arch Manning's game against Florida in Austin last Saturday. The quarterback shrugged off a defender closing in for a sack and delivered a perfectly placed touch pass along the sidelines.

Sam Pittman has high praises for Quinn Ewers

Arch Manning isn’t the only Texas quarterback Sam Pittman is impressed with, the coach also praised Ewers for his unwavering confidence, not just in his own abilities but also in the teammates surrounding him.

“The confidence of Jaxson Dart, that type of confidence," Pittman said. "I think he has great belief in his O-line. You can just feel it. You can feel it on the field. And his wideouts are incredible. Running backs are used as wideouts on bubble screens... I think he has a lot of talent around him, but I think he has a lot, a lot of confidence. Probably has since he was a young man.”

In the bid to get a win in Fayetteville on Saturday, Arkansas has to stop Quinn Ewers. Without a doubt, defending against Ewers won’t be easy for Sam Pittman and his team, but his strategy will begin with focusing on containing Texas along the edges.

“We have to have our edge, we have to turn everything back inside, we have to," Pittman said. "If they get outside of one of our guys, we're in trouble. We've got to chase the ball and we have to play extremely hard.”

With a 5-3 record so far, Arkansas is looking to secure bowl game qualification in the matchup against Texas on Saturday. The Razorback staged an upset against Tennessee earlier this season and will look to deliver such a performance at home on Saturday.
