Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty continued his stellar season when the Broncos beat the Oregon State Beavers 34-18 in Week 14 of college football action. He tallied 226 yards on 37 carries with one touchdown to ensure that his team would play in the Mountain West Conference championship game.

According to Fan Duel, Jeanty has +3000 odds to win the Heisman, trailing his main rival, Colorado Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter with -10,000 after an excellent performance in the Buffs' 52-0 win against the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

Jeanty has tallied 2,288 rushing yards on 312 carries with 28 TDs and is still on pace to break Barry Sander's 37-year record of 2,691 yards and 37 TDs set in 1988 in a Heisman-winning campaign.

During his postgame news conference on Saturday, Broncos coach Spencer Danielson made his case for Jeanty to win the Heisman Trophy.

“Ashton Jeanty … an absolute warrior,” Danielson said. “A warrior for his teammates. When the defense is out there, half the time I run into him because he’s there cheering the defense on. This is a team-first kid.”

Mark Ingram makes the case for Ashton Jeanty to win Heisman

During Saturday's segment of "Big Noon Kickoff," former Alabama Crimson Tide RB Mark Ingram, who won the Heisman in 2009, talked about Ashton Jeanty being worthy of winning it this year.

“He (Jeanty) is worthy to be in the conversation," Ingram said. "He is worthy of this award. He has nearly 2,300 yards and 28 touchdowns. And when you talk about, he is running through contact, he is running through tackles, he has almost 1,700 yards after contact — that’s more than any other player’s total yards in the nation."

The No. 11-ranked Broncos (11-1, 7-0 MWC) will likely be in the expanded College Football Playoff due to Jeanty's efforts.

Jeanty pivoted toward his teammates instead of making his case for the Heisman Trophy.

"First of all, I gotta give all glory to God," Jeanty said after Saturday's game. "But it felt amazing man. Not only just for me but for the team. The personal success that I have doesn't come anywhere just from me. It comes from team success, and great offensive play and defensive play."

With the conference championship games still to come, Ashton Jeanty still has one more chance to sway more votes to his Heisman Trophy case when he plays against the UNLV Rebels on Friday with a chance to earn a first round bye in the CFP.
