Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson was almost an Ohio State Buckeye. The former Texas Longhorns revealed on the "Bussin' With The Boys" podcast that he secretly committed to the Buckeyes for a week before walking back on his word and choosing Steve Sarkisian's Longhorns.
Robinson said:
"I know you hate to hear this, but I silently committed to Ohio State for a week, that's exactly what it was and it was like more so people and players in my ear telling me like, 'You gotta go here. You should go here. We're gonna build a dynasty here. You're gonna be amazing.' Which could have been true."
He also revealed the reason why he didn't join the Big Ten school, saying:
"But I just knew I could really go to Texas for a 40-year decision and not just football and I can become somebody here and always feel like this is the place for me, when I told the coaches that was the hardest conversation of my life."
Robinson has since moved to the NFL after being selected eighth overall by the Falcons in the 2023 NFL draft. In his first season, he recorded 976 rushing yards with four rushing touchdowns. He also put in an impressive effort on the receiving end, with 476 yards and four touchdowns. He also had four fumbles. His efforts were rewarded with a PFWA All-Rookie Team selection.
Robinson signed a deal worth $21,958,544 with the Falcons in 2023. His net worth is bound to improve, as the contract is guaranteed.
