"Behind Bo Nix": NFL analyst drops eye-catching remark on Shedeur Sanders & Carson Beck before 2025 draft

Shedeur Sanders and Carson Beck are among two of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL draft class. Every year, quarterbacks get drafted high as teams try to find the player that can carry their franchise for a decade or more. Sometimes, they get taken higher than they should due to their importance.

That is a concern this season as many pundits have stated they do not believe this is a strong draft class for quarterbacks. On the GoJo and Golic show, sports commentator Jason Fitz spoke about Sanders, Beck, and the 2025 quarterback class as a whole.

"This year's quarterback class as we've said for months, is not very good in the draft. Like I've talked to a couple of guys that I think are smart with the draft and I asked them all the same question: whoever your top quarterback is in this year's draft, where would they have ranked in last year's draft?"

"And everybody that I've talked to and asked that specific question to is giving me the same answer. Sixth, behind Bo Nix."

While the numbers are slightly off because Nix was the sixth quarterback drafted in 2024 ranking the top quarterback in 2025 behind him is not a ringing endorsement for Sanders, Beck, or any other passer this year.

How high are the top quarterbacks like Sanders, Beck expected to go in the 2025 NFL draft?

While many analysts agree that this is not a good draft class for quarterbacks, it likely will not stop some teams from reaching for a quarterback at the top of the draft.

Last year, the top three picks were all quarterbacks, and two more were drafted in the top 10. Six quarterbacks were drafted in the top 12, with Nix being the last of that group to get drafted.

This season, there are some star players at other positions that will likely go before the top quarterbacks like Travis Hunter and Tetairia McMillan. However, Sanders is still expected to go in the top five and it would not be shocking to see Miami quarterback Cam Ward go in the top 10.
