Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow had a successful collegiate career with the LSU Tigers. He was a part of the dominant 2019 team under then-coach Ed Oregon. Burrow was then drafted by the Bengals as the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft.
During an interaction with Complex Sports, Joe Burrow was questioned about his opinion and selection for LSU Tigers' Mount Rushmore. It meant that Burrow had to name the four best athletes the University produced throughout the years.
The ex-LSU quarterback began by naming basketball greats Shaquille O'Neal and Pete Maravich. He went on to name himself as a part of the group along with former Tigers wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. OBJ played for the program before Burrow. He played for three seasons, between 2011 and 2013.
O'Neal, a four-time NBA champion, played for the Tigers from 1989 to 1992. During his collegiate stint, he won several accolades, including being a two-time Consensus All-American, two-time SEC Player of the Year and being named as the Player of the Year by both the Associated Press and UPI.
Pete Maravich also became an LSU legend while playing for the Tigers between 1967 to 1970. During his college career, Maravich established several NCAA records, including being the all-time leading scorer with 3,667 points.
However, WNBA rookie Caitlin Clark surpassed Maravich's collegiate record last season with the Iowa Hawkeyes, tallying 3,951 points.
