Bill Belichick drops 3-word reaction to Jim Harbaugh opening up about his mother Jackie's greatest advice

New North Carolina Tar Heels coach Bill Belichick has enormous expectations foisted on his shoulders after a glittering NFL career. His achievements include six Super Bowl wins with the New England Patriots.

Despite hitting the recruitment trail hard since being named Tar Heels coach, Belichick has continued to fulfill his various media commitments.

On Monday's episode of the "Let's Go" podcast, Belichick and Los Angeles Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh spoke about handling a fanbase's expectations.

"Make today a great day if you want to, as my mum, Jackie Harbaugh, who probably gave me the best piece of advice of everybody. 'Just take it one day at a time, one game at a time, one play at a time,'" Harbaugh said. (27:00)

Bill Belichick to tailor UNC to NFL standards

Despite the North Carolina Tar Heels job being his first in college football, Bill Belichick said on Monday's "The Pat McAfee Show" segment that he would fill his staff with coaches with NFL experience.

"I'll really start to move on that (staff hiring) this week and next week," Belichick said.

"A lot of coaches that are potentially available that'll be on the staff are either still involved in college football bowl games, playoffs, or they're still involved in the NFL. ... But there will be a strong NFL presence on the staff, but not exclusively. We have some other people too that we're working on."

Belichick further pinpointed his aims for the new staff he will hire in North Carolina.

"So, trying to put together the best that we can, coaches that'll help the players and help produce winning football at Carolina. That's what we're there for, we're there to help the players," Belichick said.

The Tar Heels coach confirmed that interim coach Freddy Kitchens, who led the Tar Heels in their 27-14 loss to the UConn Huskies in the Fenway Bowl on Saturday, would be part of his staff.

According to ESPN, the coach's son, Stephen Belichick, the defensive coordinator of the Washington Huskies, is also expected to join his father's staff in Chapel Hill.
