After being announced as the new head coach of UNC, Bill Belichick is already making moves in the transfer portal to strengthen his roster for his debut collegiate campaign. As per reports, he has successfully signed former Prairie View A&M OT William Boone to the team.

Boon, a 6-foot-7, 340-pound OT, from Heritage High School, has two years of eligibility remaining. According to his agent Austin Pfenninger from JL Sports, he is looking forward to learning from Belichick's experience in the NFL.

"He (William Boone) is from Atlanta so it's a chance to be closer to home and easier for his family to see him," Pfenninger said via On3.com. "Also couldn't pass up the chance to learn from Coach Belichick and the NFL-style approach the staff has. They have seemed to lay out a clear path for everything he needs to do to get to the next level."

Bill Belichick hires Matt Lombardi to the coaching staff

Apart from building a talented roster at UNC, Bill Belichick is also focusing on strengthening his coaching staff. As a part of this revamp, he is hiring Oregon Ducks offensive analyst Matt Lombardi to the team.

Lombardi is expected to join the Tar Heels as an offensive assistant next season. This season, he helped the Ducks become one of the best offenses in college football and also become the undefeated Big Ten champions.
