The Boise State Broncos beat the Oregon State Beavers 34-18 in Week 14 to improve to 11-1 overall, while remaining a perfect 7-0 in MWC play. It marked their tenth consecutive win to close the regular season as they look to solidify their College Football Playoff chances.
While the Broncos were not ranked in the preseason AP Top 25 Poll, their strong play has put them within striking distance of reaching the postseason in the first season of the 12-team format.
They were ranked tenth in the latest rendition of the AP Top 25 Poll. Although the far more important College Football Playoff rankings won't be updated until Tuesday, Boise State entered the week ranked 11th.
They have already secured bowl eligibility after fulfilling the criteria of at least six wins and a winning percentage of at least .500, with only one win against an FCS opponent counting towards those numbers.

Boise State bowl projections after Week 14: Exploring Broncos' postseason chances
The Boise State Broncos are bowl eligible, with their sights set much higher, as they sit at 11-1 following their Week 14 victory over the Oregon State Beavers. The Broncos began the season with a victory over the Georgia Southern Eagles before falling to the now-No. 1-ranked Oregon Ducks by a final score of 37-34.
They bounced back with a blowout victory over the FCS level Portland State Vikings, which allowed them to enter the AP Top 25 Poll. Boise State began their slow ascension up the rankings the following week as they beat the Washington State Cougars by three touchdowns. They kicked off MWC play in Week 6 by defeating the Utah State Aggies 62-30.
It was a sign of things to come as the Broncos have been dominant in conference play all season long. They picked up their fourth consecutive win of at least three touchdowns as they defeated the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors the following week. After their second bye week of the season, Boise State survived a road matchup against the UNLV Rebels, winning 29-24.
They got back to their dominant ways the following week as they beat the San Diego State Aztecs by 32 points. The Broncos were able to pull off a 28-21 victory over the Nevada Wolf Pack in Week 11. They blew out the San Jose State Spartans the following week before escaping another close road matchup in Week 13, beating the Wyoming Cowboys 17-13.
Boise State closed their regular season schedule with a victory over the Oregon State Beavers. They are set to face the UNLV Rebels in the MWC Championship Game on Friday, December 6 with a trip to the College Football Playoff on the line.
The most common projection is that they emerge victorious and earn one of the four first-round byes in the postseason bracket. If they are unable to win the MWC Championship Game, however, they could wind up in the LA Bowl, which takes place on December 18 or the Rate Bowl, which takes place on December 26.
