The Boise State Broncos will try to pull off an upset when they face the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Fiesta Bowl on New Year’s Eve. The game is part of the College Football Playoff, so the winner will advance to the national semifinal.
Boise State (12-1) earned a bye into the CFP quarterfinals by finishing as the third-highest-ranked conference champion. However, the Broncos are considered the underdog against Power Four Penn State (12-2).
While Boise State plays in the Mountain West Conference, it did square off against one Big Ten team. The Broncos' lone loss of the season was a 37-34 defeat at No. 1 Oregon.
Ashton Jeanty is also coming off a record-setting season with 2,497 yards and 29 touchdowns, finishing as a Heisman Trophy runner-up, behind Colorado Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter.
The Broncos are not expected to have any more players opting out and should be close to full strength against the Nittany Lions. Here is a look at their depth chart for the Fiesta Bowl.
