The No. 15 Boise State Broncos are looking to make a push to compete in the College Football Playoff, and have the best record in the Mountain West Conference at 4-0 and have an overall record of 7-1. The team is coming off of a dominant 56-24 win over the San Diego State Aztecs in Week 10. Boise State quarterback Maddux Madsen has shared in an interview that fans shouldn't have doubts as the Broncos look to finish the season strong.

Madsen spoke with Infinity Sports Network's Zach Gelb on Nov. 5 about fans doubting Boise State's playoff run and running back Ashton Jeanty's chances of winning the Heisman Trophy this season. He explained that he is used to people counting him out, and Boise State itself knows how good the team is this season.

Madsen said:

"Personally, I've been doubted my whole life, and so I don't find it very impacting on me, but I know everyone in this building knows how good we really are and then you talk about everyone knows how good Ashton is. There is no reason to kind of doubt us anymore, I guess."

"If he doesn't win, I'd be really shocked": Maddux Madsen thinks Ashton Jeanty should win the Heisman Trophy

Gelb also asked Madsen his thoughts on Boise State's chances of Jeanty winning the Heisman Trophy. Jeanty has 190 carries for 1,525 yards and 20 touchdowns. Madsen feels that the Broncos running back is deserving of the award and would be shocked if he didn't win.

Madsen said:

"That is a real Heisman finalist, 100% in my mind. If he doesn't win, I'd be really shocked. Like he is legit in what he is doing. People can put competition against it, but it hasn't been done like that in a long time, and so that's where I see Ashton."

Madsen would redirect the attention back to the team and feels the Broncos must stay focused on being the best team in the conference.

"We still have a lot to grow": Maddux Madsen believes the team can still improve this season

Madsen noted that the team still has more to improve on if it wants to compete in the playoffs; however, he believes the Broncos are playing better than when he joined the program in 2022.

"We still have a lot to grow and do certain things, but the level of play that we are playing at is something I've never seen in my time at Boise State, and I'm excited for it to keep going," Madsen explained.

The Broncos are on track to surpass last season's 8-5 record. Boise State's win over San Diego State with an overall record of 3-5 and a conference record of 2-1, was the sixth consecutive win. Madsen hopes to keep the momentum going in Week 11 when the Broncos face the Nevada Wolf Pack on Saturday.
