Boston College vs Nebraska game summary
Before the Pinstripe Bowl started, Nebraska was the betting favorite despite the fact that they were coming off a loss and had a slightly worse record than Boston College. However, it was expected to be a close game. Early on that proved to be the case as neither team was able to get anything going on offense in the first quarter.
However, points started to get put on the board early in the second quarter. Nebraska capitalized on their drive, opening the scoring only four seconds into the quarter, taking a 7-0 lead. The Cornhuskers would then score again with four minutes for a TD.
However, chaos unfolded on the PAT as the extra point was blocked. It was then returned by Kwinten Ives for a defensive PAT, bringing the score to 13-2. There would be no more scoring in the first half, so the game entered halftime with the Cornhuskers holding a 13-2 lead.
Early in the third quarter, neither team could get anything going. However, with three minutes left in the third quarter, Emmett Johnson caught a 13-yard pass from Dylan Raiola to score a TD. The extra point was completed and the Cornhuskers extended their lead to 20-2.
The Eagles continued to struggle to get anything going offensively until they scored a TD with six minutes left in the fourth quarter. Looking to cut the lead to 10, they attempted a two-point conversion but failed. As a result, the score stayed at 20-8.
However, they were able to score again with four minutes remaining to bring the score to 20-15. That was the end of the comeback, though, as Nebraska won 20-15.
