Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders has reached a new level of fame in Boulder. When Deion Sanders was hired as coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, his sons Shedeur and Shilo transferred from Jackson State to join him. Shedeur has gone on to make a name for himself in the college football scene.
Shedeur Sanders decided to return for one more season before declaring for the NFL draft next year. After his heroics during Colorado's victory in the Rocky Mountain Showdown on Sept. 14, his fanfare has been through the roof.
In a video posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday, the Colorado QB can be seen engaging with fans. When he went to a restaurant, screaming fans were outside, and as he made his way into the restaurant, we see him stopping to take selfies and meet with fans who were excited to see the Colorado star.
Fans took to social media to share a variety of reactions to the Shedeur craze in Boulder. One commenter was not happy about the fan reaction:
"Boulder is a dump. Show all the fent addicts on the sidewalks," they wrote.
This fan believes that Coach Prime's son will be a top-10 pick in the NFL draft:
"And y'all are trying to act like he won't be a top 10 pick. It's a freaking lock!"
Another fan talked about how Shedeur Sanders must be having a wonderful time living in Boulder:
"Yeeeeaaaa he's having a great time in Boulder FOR SURE"
This fan commented that Coach Prime and his sons focus on themselves more than dedicating time to the program:
"And people wonder why they can't win? It's beacause Deion and his kids care about nothing but themselves!"
Another fan reminded Shedeur of his long-term goals.
"Stay focused brother NFL is the play."
Shedeur Sanders' stats against Colorado State
After a disappointing Week 2 loss at the hands of Nebraska, the Buffs bounced back by winning the Week 3 game against Colorado State with a 28-9 final score. Shedeur Sanders put up an impressive performance after failing to make an impact in the previous week.
During the game against the Colorado State Rams, Shedeur recorded 310 passing yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions. The Colorado offensive line also did an impressive job of protecting Sanders and he was sacked only once.
So far this season, Shedeur Sanders has put up a total of 999 passing yards with 9 TD passes and two interceptions for the Buffs. It will be interesting to see if he can lead the team to a playoff spot or a bowl game in his final collegiate campaign.
