Ex-Alabama head coach Nick Saban is enjoying his new profession in the broadcasting world. After retiring earlier this year, the Crimson Tide have been under the leadership of Kalen DeBoer and have put up a 6-2 record.
In Week 11, Alabama will take on Brian Kelly's LSU at Tiger Stadium. Nick Saban and the ESPN College GameDay crew will be present for this highly anticipated Death Valley showdown. In the buildup to the game at Tiger Stadium, Brian Kelly shared his thoughts about allowing Saban into the locker room now that he has retired.
On "The Paul Finebaum Show," Kelly said that giving the former Alabama head coach too much freedom might be far-fetched:
"He still has an office over there at Alabama," Kelly said. "So I'm not sure. But you know what they say, keep your friends close and keep your enemies closer. So we're gonna let him hang around a little bit but we're not going to let him in the locker room, that's for sure."
Before becoming Alabama's head coach in 2007, Nick Saban also served as the head coach of the LSU Tigers from 2000 to 2004. During his five-season stint with the program, Saban put up a 48-16 overall record and won one national championship with them.
The Alabama vs LSU showdown is scheduled for Saturday, November 9 at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on television on ABC. Fans can also watch the game on various live-streaming platforms such as FuboTV and SlingTV.
This game will further decide the two programs' chances of advancing to this year's 12-team playoffs. Thus, both Alabama and LSU will be looking to emerge victorious to cling to their hopes of winning a natty.
Nick Saban offered advice to Kalen DeBoer amid Alabama's two-loss season
Kalen DeBoer's debut with the Crimson Tide has been a roller coaster. After a strong start, the team succumbed to losses against Vanderbilt and Tennessee, denting their hopes of winning a national championship this season.
Before Alabama's clash with the Missouri Tigers in Week 9, Nick Saban offered some advice to DeBoer and how his team can improve.
"Alabama has to worry about getting back to playing to a standard," Saban said on ESPN College GameDay. "If they can play to a standard with the talent that they have, they can come out on top. They may be worried about the outcomes instead of playing one play at a time."
Alabama recorded a 34-0 victory over Missouri before heading into an open week and will be looking to maintain this winning momentum against LSU.
