Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter to start the Alamo Bowl
Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter haven’t just followed the Colorado team to San Antonio for the Alamo Bowl but will be suited in the Buffaloes uniform for the last time against BYU.
Deion Sanders confirmed after the announcement of the bowl game that Colorado's players who are draft-eligible will feature in the encounter. This is something pretty huge, especially at a time when opting out of bowl games has become a tradition in college football for draft prospects.
“We have a plethora of seniors that are pro-bound and guess what, every single one of them is going to play," Sanders said. "We don't tap out. We don't sit out…”
“...We have a kid that's probably, not probably, as a matter of fact he's going to pick up the Heisman trophy this week and he is going to play. We've got a quarterback who picked up an award last weekend, and he is going to play. We have receivers that I know are going pro, and guess what, they're going to play."
To mitigate the risk of injury and potential financial loss, Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter have secured what is believed to be record-setting disability insurance policies ahead of the game. According to Deion Sanders, this was secured through the school.
