Colorado's Shedeur Sanders and Miami's Cam Ward are considered the top quarterbacks entering the 2025 NFL draft. However, ESPN analyst Jake Trotter believes that the Hurricanes signal-caller could get picked before the CU star.

On the "BIGPLAY Cleveland Show" on Tuesday, Trotter discussed why he feels Ward could get picked ahead of Sanders in this year's draft.

"My educated guess is that the Browns prefer Cam Ward to Shedeur Sanders," Trotter said. "But I don't know. And I think it's probably too early to say whether they like him enough to draft him with the No. 2 pick."

The Browns (3-14) struggled with quarterbacks in the 2024 season. Their starter, Deshaun Watson, failed to live up to the expectations early in the season and was even booed by the Cleveland faithful on some occasions before he suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in Week 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Even Watson's backup, Jameis Winston, struggled to handle the offense for the rest of the season. Cleveland gave Bailey Zappe his first start for the franchise in Week 18, but the team suffered a crushing 35-10 defeat to the Baltimore Ravens.

Nonetheless, the Browns will look toward this year's draft for a rebuild. They need to address the issues at quarterback and could draft a talented slinger in the first round. As things stand, Miami quarterback Cam Ward appears to be the prime target.

During the Tennessee Titans' Week 18 defeat against the Houston Texans at Nissan Stadium, a section of Tennessee fans protested the team's struggles. A group was seen wearing paper bags over their heads, while some even had cutouts of Shedeur Sanders taped on the front of the bags.

The Titans hold the No. 1 pick in this year's draft and need to make it count. While the franchise needs to address several areas on the field, a section of fans appeared to make it clear that Sanders would be the ideal first-round selection.

In his final season at Colorado, Sanders racked up 4,134 passing yards and 37 touchdowns with 10 interceptions. He also scored four rushing touchdowns in 13 games as CU finished with a 9-4 record.
