On Thursday, the nation's top recruit, Bryce Underwood, flipped his recruitment from LSU to Michigan. He initially committed to LSU in January.

Underwood has not wasted any time making the most of his NIL opportunities. Part of his decision to switch his commitment to Michigan was because of the NIL opportunities pitched to him by coach Sherrone Moore. Michigan's NIL institution raised an unprecedented amount of money to recruit Bryce Underwood.

According to reporter EJ Holland, Underwood will make around $10.5 million over four years. Additionally, he has partnered with the Michigan NIL collective AChampions Circle and Valian Management to release personalized autographed trading cards and jersey t-shirts. The cards are priced at $1900 and the shirts are priced at $50.

When it was announced that Bryce Underwood was committing to Michigan, he released a statement:

"I am beyond excited to announce my commitment to the University of Michigan. Growing up here, it’s been a lifelong dream to wear the Maize and Blue. I’m ready to give my all for this team, this university, and our incredible fans."

"Exciting times" says Michigan head coach after Bryce Underwood's commitment

Bryce Underwood's decision to flip did not happen overnight. He reportedly reviewed both schools in recent weeks and the deals presented to him. However, it was hard to ignore what was described as "life-changing money" offered by Michigan. Although the final details have not been released, the estimated value is around $10.5 million.

Sherrone Moore spoke to On3's Steve Wiltfong on Thursday night and told him:

"Just and exciting time. The guys understanding what the culture is like, what the vision is for the program and I think that’s why we’re getting these high-level kids. Guys that want to be part of bringing back what has been the last couple years of Michigan football."

With Underwood switching his commitment from LSU to Michigan, he has the opportunity to compete for championships in a city that is only 30 minutes away from his hometown, Belleville, Michigan. As a result, he will get to keep a close connection with his family which would not have been available had he gone to LSU.
