Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik gave the Tigers fans a scare during the 29-13 win over Florida State Seminoles in Week 6. He left the game for one snap in the first quarter.

Backup quarterback Christopher Vizzina stepped in momentarily, throwing an incomplete pass, before Klubnik returned two plays later to throw a touchdown.

After a hard hit near the Clemson sideline, Klubnik was slow to get up, prompting concerns. However, much to Clemson fans' relief, Klubnik and HC Dabo Swinney downplayed the severity of the injury in the post-game press conference.

“I was all good,” Klubnik reassured reporters. He explained that the refs had forced him to leave the field briefly after noticing he was slow to rise.

The hit that led to his exit occurred on a 14-yard run, where a collision with Florida State’s K.J. Kirkland caused a moment of concern.

Swinney seconded these sentiments, stating Klubnik was “just shook up.” The Clemson coach also lauded Klubnik for returning to the field after a brief hiatus:

“I think he needs to go get a few of those, you know? I mean, we’re gonna need him. So he’s gotta be smart, but he’s also gotta lead his team. That was a good play, but he bounced back.”

Cade Klubnik had an impressive game, completing 19 of 33 passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns. He also rattled FSU’s defense by rushing 11 times for 62 yards.

Dabo Swinney gives Clemson injury update

Apart from informing on his QB, the Clemson coach offered key injury updates after the victory over the Seminoles. First up was junior wide receiver Adam Randall, who was surprisingly ready to play despite undergoing toe surgery just weeks ago.

On the defensive side, sophomore Peter Woods played minutes after missing two games due to a knee injury.

“Hopefully he can have a real full practice next week. We kind of had to climatize him back last week, so hopefully he can have a really full week of practice, and that’s going to help him just kind of get back into football mode.”

Two other updates were on sophomore offensive lineman Harris Sewell and redshirt freshman defensive lineman Stephiylan Green. Both were absent from today’s game but are expected back soon.

Swinney also mentioned redshirt sophomore OL Collin Sadler, who was available for the game after recovering from a minor flare-up during the week.

Looking ahead, Clemson, now 4-1, will take on Wake Forest in Winston-Salem next week, aiming for their fifth consecutive win this season.
